chemung 3/1-3/2

i was wondering if anyone planned on comming out this weekend, i planned on commin out with my kids, for a while at least, if someone else brings their kids, it would make it much easier for all who do.....my kids tend to get bored, but are very wanting to meet some other kids on the ice , i have a 8 year old and a 3 year old i also have a perminent shanty west of the boat launch that could serve as a place for the kids since ive only used it once this year.....if anyone one else plans on bringing kids or wives let me know cause my wife would like to go also................................remember this....if you watch 1 kid you watch 1 kid if you watch 2 kids, you watch 1/2 kids, if you watch 3 kids you watch 1/3 kids if you watch 4 kids you watch 1/4 kids and so on see ya all around

It sound's like there will be a bunch of kid's out there. See the Kid's Outing (http://www.michigan-sportsman.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&postid=259420#post259420) thread. Sounds like a good time. I might get into this one myself. My son would love it.

Hey Greeneman, still sounding like me and Tomiller are plannin on visiting the lake this saturday morning. hopefully going to be up there around 7:30 - 8 am. No kids here, unless you consider myself (19) and my bro (23) kids? Was just curious on how the fishing has been up there, if anybody has been able to man this weather and get out on the ice...We are planning on going west of the launch to try to panfish and maybe some pike...just wondering how the bite is up there....hopefully this LITTLE bit of warmer weather this weekend will turn em on a little bit...

hey cory...im not too sure how its goin, i know i havent caught crap the last few times i was out, but i really wasnt fishin to hard either, i did see wild bill and polarbear catch fish all day alot of small ones, but some real nice ones, bill got a 28" pike that day

Well Greeneman, thats not what i really wanted to hear...but i hope this weekend will be a different story. Are you just mainly fishing the west side of the ramp by your perm. shanty or moving around for 'em? i did see that pike wild bill caught, must have been a nice fish to pull through the ice! I guess just as long as something is tuggin on my line i really don't care...radios will be on channel 8...will be seeing yas Sat. monring...

hey guys, damn, my plans have changed as well, i cant make it sat., but we'll be out there in full force sun.,and if im lucky ill get to the bait shop on sat. nite so we can be out there at sunrise!

Fished from about 8:15 until noon. We did ok with 21 gills and a crappie but we moved around quite a bit until we found some decent fish. Fished with tomiller and cmfish51 part of the time and they added to our pile. Thanks and we'll probably see you next saturday. Talked to Steve a couple times but it was slow on the west end of the lake. Here's a pic of the gills. We actual got some bigger ones this time.

Fished Chemung Saturday morning with Tomiller and ended up fishing with 338Bar. Thanks again for letting us fish with you! We had a blast using the Outdoor Viewing System camera. Thats all we talked about Sat. night while at dinner. Got told by the girlfriend, "can we please stop talking about fishing for 5 minutes"...haha....its lasted about 12 minutes of non fishing talk and then we went right back to talking about seeing 12-20 bluegills in the cameras lens at one time....Seein the fish approach the jig, sucking in the small teardrop, and although not seein your spring bobber move, set the hook and have a fish on the end of the line...AWESOME...Caught about a dozen gills, nothing with huge size, but still fry-able. Saw a couple crappie and perch caught on walk in, but looked like 338bar did the best....once again, thanks for a great day of fishing on lake chemung 338bar, without your help, i think i would have just gotten like 3 bites!!! I will not be up there on Sat, but will be up on Sunday and Monday to fish...

Same story here, with the pipes! Needless to say, I went fishin' anyway! The wife is not real happy right now:mad:

I keep wonderin',,,,,,,,,,how hard could it be?????? ( rippin' out the galvanized and replacing with copper) I just can't muster up enough courage to start the project!:rolleyes:

Fished from 11 until 3 on Sun 3/2. Caught a few nice gills in the first couple of hours, missed a ton of bites while I was setting my girlfriend up. Around 12:30 it got cold as ***** and the fish just plain shut-off. Very frustrating to see so many fish on the vex with no takers. I'll be out hopefully next week, not sure which day yet though.

i was out there from 10 till about 4, only 1 hit the whole day but that was it(pike) man did it get cold, in fact when i left there was only 1 other group on the ice.....kinda strange ive never seen the lake like that all year but while i was freezin my but of in my shanty, i had got up to grab a beer from outside and when i opened the door a big gust of wind came and blew my heater over, and burned a real nice hole in the side of my shanty what a drag
