For roadkill gourmets, it’s finders eaters
"I don't like to see meat go to waste," said O'Neil. "There's nothing wrong with (roadkill). All hunters do it."

Keep in mind that I may post articles for humor and variety as well as educational. I notice that with many road kill topics they fail to mention safety as much as I would. There is a much larger potential for contamination and spoilage with road kills between summer and winter. I will accept a fresh deer that is a clean head hit kill, but it is not worth the bother for few pounds of mangled burger.

I agree with your assessment. Roadkilled vension meat is generally fine if fresh. However, present Mich. law makes it difficult to pick up a fresh roadkill. By the time the permits have been acquired, the meat may not be too fresh.

Be advised! Ibelieve that only deer and bear may be kept (with permit) any other critters require an appropriate licence and must be in season.:)
Oh thanks Jim, I was just kicking myself over all the Coons and Possums I passed up yesterday. I feel much better now.;) :D
