View Full Version : Escanaba in da Moonlight
just got notice of a new movie featuring Michigan native Jeff Daniels."A hilarious and heart warming tale set in an upper penninsula deer camp." I for one am really looking fowward to seeing this one. Opens Jan. 26 at a theater near you (hopefully).
Just thought I'd pass it along to everyone.

I haven't heard of it yet but I'm sure I'll find out some more when I get a chance to talk to my huntin partners. Sounds like a decent one already, is it supposed to go in all the theater's or just a selected few?

Oops..... I wasn't on yesterday and that's when I received a postcard advertising this movie. I just posted another like notice under Gen.Mich.Hunting of like kind....sorry, Steve...
But then, perhaps more folks will see it and go see the movie...? ~ m ~
One of the guys I work with has a wife who works for the production company that made this film. He saw the movie a couple of weeks ago, he says its cute, especially if you understand a yooper. I agree, lets support this movie.
I saw the play at the gem theater in detroit in november 99. cute is a good way to describe it. It makes light of hunters and dnr. They are all backwoods folks that are depicted as beer drinkers that are serious hunters It was funny and I am looking forward to seeing the movie.

I understand Daniels got part of his inspiration for this film (and play) from a book called Danny and the Boys by Robert Traver. I have read this book and you guys should get a copy too. Its hillarious!!

I am making a family event out of it. Watched the trailer on the net and it sure looks funny. Have some friends that saw the stage performance. Said it is pretty funny. Will cut into my icefishing but a little family movie (a movie we can all relate to) is worth sparing a few fish for :)
Just saw a preview of the movie on Michigan out of doors and I found myself lol. I think it will be much better than the play. Looking forward to seeing it.
Ps. Dont forget turkey permits due feb 1st
