Very nice! Have you had it out yet? I have been going back and forth between the .17 HMR and a .22 mag for about 8 months now (Savage or Marlin). I’ve decided to hold out a little longer to see if the availability of ammo and the guns themselves gets better. Everywhere I go I ask if they have one and get the same answer: “Nope. They sell as soon as the come in.”
I have an uncle that took his Ruger 77/17 out west on a prairie dog hunt last summer. Said he absolutely loves it.
Good luck with it and have fun,
Rupe

I have shot about 150 rounds through it. I was going to get a .223 or a .22-250 before i got this gun. The only reason i went with this one is because it was cheaper. Im 15 and only have so much money. I mainly got it for target, coyotes, and other small game. Im glad i got it. It can hold a nice group out to 150 yards. I haven't had a chance to shot a target at 200 yards yet. Haven't got the chance to get an animal with it yet, but one of my buddys said the exit hole on a crow is the size of a quator, he also has the Savage. I bout 3, 50 round box's of ammo when i first got the gun and i haven't had a problem finding shells at all.

I would go with the bolt. I no Remington came out with a semi-auto but i have herd only bad things about them. They jam alot.

The Savage .17HMR became my favorite gun!

i looked at the .17 but decided to go with the .22 mag. i bought the marlin model 25 bolt action. havent had a chance to use it on a yote yet but i does make a mess out of a crow. i use 33 grain ballistic tips and they hold a good pattern out to 125 yards.

BTW i also have a marlin 22mag it's a fence post with a crappy trigger but i'm not a match shooter so it does'nt matter much but once you get it dialed in i think it's a deadly out to about 125yd's
on crow's hope the .17 will reach out a little bit further but i think wind will play a bigger role than the .22
