Fished from 7:30am till 12noon. Caught 15 7.5 - 10". They would come and go. The wind was blowing pretty hard. Lots of fishermen.

I fished North of Cotton Road Saturday and only managed 7 keepers. The wind was the worst I've seen it yet.

Average time for someone with no shanty, about 45 minutes. We would watch them go out, then come back.

Yeah, I fished with Hunt4ever and managed only 5 keepers. Talked to a few others and they didn't seem to be hitting them big either. Hunt4ever stole my big ones though they would check mine out and hit his!

I had a great time though, we'll have to do it again sometime. Send me a PM when you want to go.

I also lost a jig in a nice perches mouth! So if you ever find a nice charteuse jig inside at 10-11 incher's mouth... you're welcome!

Started at 7:30 in the morning from Selfridge. Walked North and crossed the pressure crack. Set up the shanty by myself a little North of Cotton Rd., before the winds really picked up. The fishing was slow with only 8 keepers by Noon. I did have a school of jumbos come threw that attacked my Ken's hook with a red bead tipped with a waxworm. Lost the waxworm on the first fish but caught two more on just the bead. They were attacking it as soon as it got 2 foot below the hole. The action lasted all of 1-2 minutes. Unfortunately I dropped one of the jumbos back down the hole. At 12:30 PM I met a friend and we moved the shanty 400 yards North and fished til 2:00 PM. We didn't catch a fish nor even see any there. This time we moved back South on the Selfridge side of the crack. The fishing was slow but when we caught fish they were big. We took home 25 fish with most of them 10-11-12 inchers. Most fish were caught on a tear drop with a minnow but a lot were caught jigging any kind of flashy lure up high and then letting it drop. I caught more fish this way that just came in out of nowhere. Also, When the action got slow I would bounce my spear off the bottom to kick up the dirt. I swear this does seem to bring the fish in? I will be out there next Friday all day with several friends. Give me a call on channel 8.

Went to brandenberg till about 1:00 pm only managed 1/2 doz. made many moves but to no avail.
Then went to selfridge and nothing untill I took a large swedish pimple chrome w/ green prism tape on one side and jiged the hell out of it. Holy $#@# the jumbos came in. My bud hogty and had four lines in and their was a fish on everyone 2 minnows one fisheye and a wiggler. We managed two out of the lot and then nothing. That was the wierdest thing. So every so often I would jig the pimp and a pod of fish would come in. We sure didnt slay them by anymeans managed about 15. Tough day but wouldnt change it for work.

The drop on the bottom and stirr process I believe does work. While fishing in front of SANG on Sunday I had a Rapalla Jig full of minows. I noticed that when I droped this rig on the bottom repeatedly, it would stir the bottom and small schools of perch would come in. Unfortunately the fish were very finicky. Could only get 5 through the ice. Its kind of like the pounder concept I use in the summer and fall when fishing for perch.

:( Yuk! Just got back from Selfridge. The wind was terrible, almost went sailing!! Good thing I built and used the shanty anchor. Saw a couple of big ones with lockjaw but that's it. Verrry slowwww out there today. Barely able to walk back against the wind. Oh well, cooked some good sausage and had a couple of cold ones to pass the time. Maybe next time......
