Gaylord boyne area lakes

Hi Folks,
Im heading up to Boyne to take my boys skiing this weekend and was going to take my icefishing stuff while they ski. Does anyone know of any lakes nearby that offer any good bluegil Panfish fishing at? Have you been there? any baitshops in the area? Any info would be appreciated.

Deer lk you can see from the MT ( to the south west a 1/4 mile). Gills and Perch a few hammer-handles. Thumb lk just a little north-east. Dink Perch, Smelt, Splake. Thumb would be your best bet, Fosters bait and tackle is on Thumb lk rd. Try the swimmin' beach off Magee rd . I've my best luck this year 2-4 fow with blues and pimples;)
