Made the fatal mistake of moving my spearing shck to a grand river bayou thinking i would get more time spearing. "closer to home". But the place is full of shad 3" long i mean like 12 in the hole at all times . I have never seen this before and the spearing is usually good there .I have sat about 16 hrs since and have not seen a pike . im going to move it back to muskegon lake.
On another note they are getting gills in the first cove on stearns
bayou saw a guy with 25 decent gills last night watch the ice if you go . the place is full of springs and there are some shaky spots already
Good luck any spearing info is welcome

heard the same thing about the shad on another area well known for pike, silver lake off the K-zoo, east of Saugatuck. Where again on the gills by stearns, live just down the road, but spend most my time at muskegon lk. first bayou by the bridge, always good in the spring?? thanx, good to hear some more about the great west side!!!!!

I've been fishing one of the other bayous and it has been lousy with shad. Last weekend did manage to pick up a few small pearch and gills. Is there a publis access on stearns? I've driven past it before and have seen many shanties, but don't know where to park. Thanks

you can park at felixs 2.00 a day or 10.00 a year and then you can get on right across the street
