I fished Devil's Lake for panfish on Thursday from noon until about 1:30 on Thursday with no luck - several light hits but no hook-ups near the bottom in about 20 F.O.W. (waxworms on a teardrop). I tried all depths from just below the ice to the bottom.
Ice thickness on Thursday: at least 14".
The word on the ice was that no one had been doing well there for a few days (on the western arm off the public access).
Three things I did wrong: 1. Didn't get out early enough. 2. Didn't fish long enough. 3. Probably wasn't close enough to the weedbed that I thought I was next to.
It seems like everyone is posting similar reports about panfishing in the southeast corner of the state. Anyone having any luck on the panfish in this area, particularly on Devil's?
