Alpena???

Can anyone tell me if Lake Huron develops safe ice in the Alpena area? I am looking at it on the map and it looks like Alpena is on a bay. Just wondering if safe ice forms there. Any info appreciated.

i wish! most winters it doesn't freeze in the bay. once and a while it will, thunder bay is home to some really nice lake huron walleye as well as steelhead and browns. when it does freeze all can be caught through the ice.
