Maceyday lake question

We used to get trout in the summer with corn and a lantern at night .. does this work in the winter?

In theory yes....but I have never caught one in the winter there on corn or minnow. H tried couple dozen times. before you go there make sure it is frozen it wtill was open a week ago. but thisextra cold weather may have helped.

I have heard the shallows near the public access is good for splake

I talked to my dad today and he said that it looked frozen but he was just driving by. So not sure as to safety. I have always had luck fishing a point that a house sits on but if you look up you see the road it is on the west side of the lake. Sorry I cant be more specfic.
