Went back out to the same spot, 200 yards past the green door shanty and slightly south. (past 2nd crack) Not as good as yesterday morning, but still caught around 60, kept 18 that were 9"+. Lost a couple of hogs. Caught a crayfish too, never caught one ice fishing! Biggest fish went 14" today. gld/red, black/gold and firetiger rapala took most fish. Bigger fish on minnies. Smaller on the kens hook w/ the spikes. Seemed to shutdown around 11am, only 3 fish between then and 12:30pm. Anyone fish the afternoon out there????

Cotton Rd. is about mile noth of Selfridge. It intersects jefferson and if I remember right the parking is very limited.

SS:
Was at Selfridge yesterday pm (1~4) and managed 24 from 8~11", saw a couple in the hole that had to have went 15".
It was waaaay slow till about 2pm but had to do a lot of changing up, on bait/color to find what they wanted. Seemed the smaller the better, and they favored purple, pink, and gold teardrops first with waxies, then minnows.
Would go half hour with nothing in the hole, then the hole would be full of em, and you'd get 3~5 fish,(couldnt get the bait back down fast enough) then they'd be gone again for another 30min.
Man, if they'd have stuck around a limit would have been NO PROB. This wked might be good with more people on the ice though, cause I noticed that when someone would walk by or drive a machine past the shantie, it seemed to move the fish around??
Kind of surprised though that I never saw any walleye swim through the hole all afternoon?? But hey, if I can get a few of those 15" to bit, who needs walleyes,lol....they must be deeper?
Cause I was out at the preasure crack, and the water was only about 4'.

I fished Cotton Rd. from 1 til dark Friday afternoon and they kept biting right til dark. I couldn't park at Cotton Rd. so I had a long walk from Selfridge access. When i crossed the big pressure crack going out in the day time I marked the spot with my GPS saw i could cross in the same spot at night. I caught my limit and had to pull the lure away from smaller perch. I also speared the larger perch that didn't want to bite. I was amazed at the size of the perch that were swimming through the hole. My buddy yells "submarine" as I looked down through the hole to see the largest perch I've ever seen swim away. Some fish were really agressive and others weren't. We fished with minnows, wigglers and waxworms on orange and chartrouse tear drops. Will be back out Sunday morning in the same spot.

Went out with 4 people. Melon, BuddhaBelly, and KLA. We caught about 40, kept 13. Saw some nice ones that we couldnt get to bite. We were in about 5 feet of water, weeds on the bottem. I caught a smallmouth and a rock bass. Overall we all had a good time. Plan on heading out tomorrow, Channel 8 if you're out there.

I am trying to locate Cotton rd. on mapquest. Can anyone give me any more specifics? It has been said that it intersects jefferson, but what city is that, is it still Mt. Clemens? Can anyone give me directions to the area from I-94? I have fished fairhaven and metro, but cant put my finger on this cotton road area.

get off on 20 mile rd exit from 94, head east towards the lake, go north on jefferson for about a mile. Cotton Rd has a stop light. There is very limited parking.

dont know when you plan to go to cotton rd, and I see you got directions earlier, but I went there on friday, and there was no parkin by 8:30 in the morning. If you plan to go tomorrow (Sun), I would suggest you go down to Selfridge. Theres better parkin, and the walk out is about the same. Plus I was there on Friday and did OK? 24 in 4hours 8~11". Just go small (teardrops). Good luck !!

Went back out to the same spot today, only managed 4 dinks, 1 pumpkinseed in 2 1/2 hrs this morning. Lost 1 hog on the rapala. Didn't see nearly the #'s that I have been. Glad to hear that they still picked up some fish outhere. Stopped by brandenburg, south river, metro and ginos. Slow at all of those spots, very few people out of metro. May try cotten or fairhaven sun am......

I've only done good in S.Clair 2 times, but i don't really know how to fish it. What depth do you go at??? It seems you have to use the smaller lures now, i will probaily head to either cotton rd., or fairhaven, those two seemed to produce the best. I never seen better perch fishing on there in quanity and quality ever, i always caught good sized there but never in good numbers,, i want to get in on some of this before its too late!!!a.k.a brest bay.

KLA and I were out on Sunday morning. Left with 12 keepers, caught about 30-40. Saw some of the biggest perch of my life, but couldnt get the huge ones to bite. KLA caught a pretty big mud puppie. Nice and warm in the shanty, but the walk back to shore was cold. Caught most on minnows, some on wigglers.
