Its hit and miss in the bay, behind the hospital you have to get permission from South Shore Grill management, A couple of yahoos ruined it for everyone leaving trash all over.

Why do you need permission from South Shore? They don't own the water. It's not even there docks.

I used to live on the bay and did alot of ice fishing on it. Used to spear alot and the perch were always attracted to the sucker decoy. used waxworms on pink and silver teardrop. Certain days were better than others 100+ caught (most released) some days. I used to walk towards round island until I could see up Frenchmans creek and out from that dead willow in the water and the south cove. 4 ft. of water always seemed about right. I suppose the water is quite abit lower now. I fished it from 84' to 96'. The ice fishing there is better than any I've done in the U.P. Fish in these lakes usually have parasites on them and never get the amount of fish. Post how you do down there I'm curious.

No they dont own the water, but you have to use their property to access thw ice. They now do own the marina.
