MTB Rabbit Hunt

This years Michigan Traditional Bowhunters Rabbit Hunt will be held January 20, on a Saturday. It is held near Elm Hall Mi. We meet at the Pine River Recreation Club, the hunt starts at 10 am. Direction will be in the next issue of Traditional Trails, or Email me.

They have fantastic rabbit hunting . We will travel in groups to these areas. Trophies are given to the biggest and first rabbit. Last year we had 8 inches of snow and the temperature was in the single digits, and the group still took 8 or 9 rabbits! Must use blunts or Judo points, and wear orange. A Great Time!

Scott--thanks for posting the date for the rabbit hunt. I was about to call Terry for it, but I had some time this morning to play on the net and found this. Great. I haven't been the last two years due to not trusting my old pickup, but I now have a 4x4 beast that will go regardless. I had planned on going to my hunting property on that weekend to start preparing a new food plot, but I may switch to another date and come to Elm Hall.

My wife and I had a great time at the Michigan Traditional Rabbit shoot. Everyone was high spirited despite the cold temperature.

The beagles really struggled as the freezing temps. made it very difficult to trail the rabbits. I was fortunate, and took a rabbit as did 3 other members.

We also had some new members out with us, and it was good to see the young kids out with their fathers chasing bunnies. Besides the hunt, it is a great time to meet with old friends as well as new members.
