This doesn't really concern hunting but hopefully in a few years it does. Last Thursday February 1, 2001 I became a father for the first time. It is unlike anything I have ever done before. I never thought I'd say this but hearing that baby cry for the first time was the best thing I've ever witnessed. October 1 is now the second best day of the year. It's a girl and we named her Paige Autumn, because Autumn is the best time of year.

Congratulations!
My wife and I are expecting our third in April. I know of nothing more rewarding than watching kids discover the world, especially the outdoors. I wish you and your family the best of health and happiness.

Congratulations Shane,
By the sounds of your post you will be a good loving father. Take care of her, a daughter is always daddys little girl no matter how fast they grow or how old they get.
Blessings to your family.

Congrats and hope all is well with the new addition to your family. Hopefully your child gets to share the many rewards that the outdoors has to offer. There is no better feeling than taking youngsters hunting or fishing in the great outdoors.
Again congrats.
Grizzly. PS my 7 year old son went on his first deer hunt and duck hunt this year. What a special time.

Congrats! Yes daughters are great! I have living proof. My Allison is 9 months and is just about walking and talking.
All I can say is the first month is tough, but after that it really gets fun.
I laugh my head off every day.

Hearty handshake to the new father. Been there twice. Once 16 years ago and once 13 years ago, both boys.

Congradulations, Shane!
Becoming a parent is the BEST feeling in the world.... Life as you knew it is forever gone; now you have a whole new set of responsibilities and a brand new person to mold.
I have a son who turns 5 in May; and a little girl (who's middle name is Paige) that turns 1 in June.
Time sure does go by quickly.
Best wishes to you, your missus, and your new daughter!

Give that man a hearty handshake and a slap on the back. Well done, Shane! I see that your "doe" must have gone into estrus in the right season. You don't know how many guys I know that get suckered into the Valentine's Day estrus cycle. Danhead's daughters birthdays are less than a week apart, during prime rut. Congrats to you and your doe. Paige will enjoy the outdoors as long as the father that she loves and admires enjoys the outdoors. G'luck!!

Way to go!!!! You've just started the most important job that you will ever have. Becoming a father is by far the best thing I've ever done. We have three kids ranging from 6 yrs. to 3 mos. and I race home from work every night with a huge smile on my face. Now you know what life is all about! Congrats!!!! :D

Congrats Shane!!
Oh, and by the way, how's that sleep deprivation thing going about now? :) :)
It'll all be worth it in the end!! I think being a parent and taking a child out in the woods to share their love of the outdoors must be one of the proudest moments a parent can have on this earth. Although I don't have kids of my own, I can tell you my dad used to tell me the best times he has ever had has been with us kids out in the woods.
Good luck and God Bless!!
