I got home from hunting last night, was tired, and failed to bring in all my equipment. This morning I found my van broken into and the only thing taken was my Darton Predator II with extra limbs and all accessories in a full length padded case.
I made a police report but I can't let it go that easy. I'll get fliers out to Romeo area archery shops this week. A recurve can't be that easy to peddle with the more limited market. Any suggestions?

If you have the serial # be sure to give it to the owner of archery ranges so that they can look and see if a customers bow is actually yours. Also look online sites like ebay, yahoo auctions etc. for your gear. I've heard of many other stolen items being auctioned off. You never know. Sorry to hear about the theft, and good luck getting it back.

I would keep a very close eye on EBAY. You can even have them notify you by email when an item containing a certain word goes up for auction like "recurve".

Thanks for the help guys. The police have the serial number so it can be put into the nationwide database for stolen articles. Unfortunately it has to be in the hands of the police for the number to be checked. Things like this are usually sold for cash between private parties so they aren't checked. They also suggested Play-it-Again sports but I didn't know if they sold hunting equipment. I'll get them a flyer anyway.
Deputy says there has been a rash of thefts in my area the last few days- probably area youths randomly rooting through cars for whatever they can carry. I'm hoping my bow will surface somewhere nearby.
