I just want to say a quick hello, and ask the new members from MTBH to say where they are from, how long hunting traditionally, and to hear some success stories? <----<<<
Hi Joe,
I'm from Gladstone, in the U.P. I started hunting trad. last year, but haven't shot anything yet. Hope this year's going to be successful!

I'm Tony. I live near Grand Rapids. I've been shooting traditionally for 11 years now. Last year I made a longbow and hunted with it. What a thrill it was.
I love hunting traditionally and going to the shoots where new friends are made.

Hello, I am a member of MTB and this will be my 4th season bowhunting with my recurve. I have taken 2 bucks and 4 or 5 rabbits. I have been turkey hunting with my recurve for several seasons and have yet to connect.
If you go to the MTB website and select trophy page, click the more trophies button to keep viewing more pictures. my first recurve buck is on there, also my brother's first is on the same page.
When you become a member, we will post your pictures in the magazine and possibly the website. As long as they are clean photos, and taken in a respectfull matter. We also want your stories! To be printed in our Traditional Trails Magazine
Good Luck Scott Bishop

I live in Interlochen, Mi. and have been hunting/shooting traditional since 1969. I've never shot an arrow out of a compound bow. I shot a #45 Bear Kodiak Hunter recurve for the first ten years, then went to a #65 Pearson longbow. Five years ago I bought a #50 Martin Bushmaster longbow. This Martin is the nicest manufactured bow that I've shot yet. One day I may have the $ to purchase a custom longbow.
I've killed 22 deer with a bow(all bucks), and have missed more than I hit. I believe that I've only hit one that wasn't recovered.

Jumpshooting, nice to hear good words about Martin traditional bows. I have a Dream Catcher that I love to shoot. I'll probably hunt with it this year. My goal anyway, is to take a deer traditionally in the next couple years. I shoot instinctively and practice all the time. If I take the right shot, I am fairly sure I should connect. Guess I cant really explain why I am "gun shy". <----<<<

A good friend of mine shoots a Martin Diablo, he has been bow hunting for 20 years and has taken many deer with it. My brother has a Martin bow also and it shoots very fast. It shoots near 200 fps at 64lbs. I believe they are some of the best non custom bows available.
Names Gary, started recurve in '76 (?) switched to Compounds for 2-3 yrs. in the early '90's, Now I shoot longbows, recurves, primitive, and wish someone would take away the c'pound (looks sad all covered with dust)
Live in Rhode Island about 1/8 mile from the ocean (10 mi. from Block Island by boat)
Make all my own arrows, and the tools for making them. Started making my first flatbow in the spring, about ready to finish it off now. Also do myown leather crafting and bow strings.
Toolmaker by trade (trade tools help a lot in archery you know)
