No gills on the bottom, more of a polypore.. The cap is about 2" and as you can see octagon shaped with little balls on the edge..

Don't have a clue there. I would send out some images to Michael Kuo or Paul Staments and see if they have a clue. Do not ask matherly, I've seen a ton of "guesses" on his site that appeared to be way off base.
Appears to be concrete to me.

I don't have a clue what that could be. But I wouldn't fall asleep around it or let it get on my arm or anything like that!
