lost my mind and went fishing...imagine that?
knew hours before i headed out that i wouldnt catch anything based on the fact that the winds had shifted overnight to the N after 4 straight days coming from the west (Thursday would have been the day to go)
dragged a shanty w/80 lbs of crap in it all over the lake and i wasnt surprised at all....NOT EVEN A BITE
i could see the fish coming up to the bait on the Vexilar but they just would not hit
it was, however, a good learning experience
for example, i learned that:
1. holes inside of a heated shanty CAN STILL FREEZE
2. You cant use a frozen reel
3. Your toes can still ice up in $120 boots and 3 pair of socks
4. If you know that ice fishing success is highly dependent on
STABLE weather conditions, and you notice that they have
suddenly changed......DONT GO FISHING, no matter how badly
you want to.
better sharpen your blades boys...that ice is going to be easily over a foot by mid next week
