I am thinking about buying my son a Red Bear fiberglass recurve bow on EBAY. It doesn't have a string on it though. My question is where or if you can buy a replacement?

Steve, Most archery shops can make or order strings. Another option is the Stickbow conferences/ Traditional - Tradman is a sponsor there and he makes custom bow strings.

If you want the bow, buy it. Strings are easy to get. I'll make you one if you have any trouble getting one. No problem, no charge.
Anything for a kid.

I think it would be a good bow for a youngster to learn to shoot. I'll have to get out a few of my older arrows and cut them down to size and put some smaller nocks on them for the small string and maybe put a simple flipper arrow rest on it.

Steve, you may want to try shooting it off the shelf. If you match arrow spine to draw weight and length you can get decent arrow flight off the shelf. <----<<<

The only thing is that my son has a bit of trouble holding the arrow on the shelf. He's played with one that my brother-in-law has and a flipper would be easier.
