Sunday at Fair Haven

Me and BuddahBelly plan to go to Fair Haven Sunday from sunrise till around noon. We'll be on ch 8. Give a call if you're out there...

We saw quite a few perch but only pulled one up. Saw a decent sized pike also. There were a bunch of shanties and it was thick enough to take the jeep on the ice.

Hopefully it will be better next weekend. :)

Dude that wind is howeling today. The fish are so spoked I don't know if it's the wind noise, they change in weather or all the cars and trucks moving around out there. Probably all the above!!!!

Yea that was a rough day on the pond..... only seen 7 fish in the hole and landed one ... dont think anyone else was doing any better.. fished behind buds in 4'.

Went out today at the new baltimore public park,fish all over but just wouldnt bite.They would come in and just look at the hook,seen a couple nice pike and the biggest mud puppy in my life.Speaking of I have heard these are protected,I seen some slob catch one and throw it on the ice.I was on my way to get it but he already put the spud to it.

yes, they are protected, and are the largest amphibians in michigan. The fines are quite steep for killing one, plus believe it or not they have a purpose in the food chain. I hate when people kill things for no need, if you aren't gonna eat it, throw the damn things back, goes for little perch too. I don't know what people are thinking, they are the next generation of "hogs" for us to catch. I just hate people wasting things and slobs ruining it for the rest of us.

last time i was at fairhaven we caught a big mud dogger to and i like to take em off and walk away from my shanty finda hole away from everyone and put em back, this guy see's me and says hey man your not putting that back are you, i said damn staight i am they are protected and theres a reason for it. he says i did not know that, i said yup and there is also a size limit on that hammer handle you got there. he says reeaaallly, i said yup, he says i did not know that either, i said now you dont have an excuse when john law comes a walkin out here and he will. by then his buddy and mine are both out of the shanties just lookin at me and this guy i turn to my bud and just shake my head, drop the mud dogger into his new home smile as i walk back and just before i get back in i look and the bonehead brothersare putting the pike in the shanty so we cant see it ,oh well i tried:rolleyes:
