I just talked to my friend. He drove around by Stoney Point and said people were out fishing the bay (1 mile out). He said ice looked like a jig saw puzzle 200 yards from the point (ice broke up and refroze) with open water past the point.

How much of a west wind could take the ice out? Weather channel is calling for 12-16 MPH west/southwest wind on Sunday.

We where thinking about going out Sunday afternoon. I just wanted to hear some feedback on your thoughts if you would go out on the big water this time of the year with the weather the way its been. I'm not 100% sure about chancing it.

I don't know about the bay, but I did hear they were fishing out of Crane Creek off of rt. 2. This isn't too far from Toledo. I hope to make it next week. Keep us updated on the bay if you hear anything.

if you plan on going bring your spud. alot of air pockets and unsafe ice. good ice one step then sploosh i punch and through. ice was only sfe enought to get out to 12 ft. gonna wait till next week. when i was leaving two guys going out with no spud . i warned them about the conditions but one of them went through all the way . he is lucky his buddy was there . i dont think i could have reached him in time from where i was at. if you go use EXTREME CAUTION. they are calling for a 15-25 mph w/sw wind tommorrow. im gonna wait till next week. i dont like trolling in january

Lindser, I was out this morning at Crane Creek. No one was out there and the ice didn`t look very good at all.Lots of push ice that was just floating around.Went to Catawba and saw a few guys heading out there.

Crane Creek Don't waste your time to much wind . Mid Feb until ice out is best ;)

I went out to Breast Bay around 12:30 today to check the ice conditions. About 12-15 people on the ice. 2 had 4-wheelers. I saw pockets of open water out near the point. No one was out that far . Looked like all were fishing the 10-14 Foot range. Marina said 5-7 inches of ice. I'm probably not going to fish bay tomorrow. They are calling for 20-30 mph s/sw winds on Sunday
