View Full Version : Munuscong Bay
Does anyone have a current fish report from Munuscong Bay (any/all species)? Any reports through next week would be very much appreciated.
Also any details for the Walleye Jamboree Jan 24-26? Thanks.

Dawg, be very very careful on the bay. In the last two weeks well over a dozen snowmobiles, atv's, and a couple vehicles have gone thru.
There was good ice up until the rains, then that got the rivers flowing hard. Shipping traffic also weakened the ice to the point that there are an unusal # of pressure cracks in the bay this year.
In the last week we have been hammered with nearly 2 feet of snow: This will make the cracks difficult to see, and this will also make slush (and we all know what a joy that is!)
Dangerous spots on the bay right now are: Pine Island, Gull Island, Barbeau point (otherwise known as 'The Birches'), Grass Island, near the river mouth, Moon Island, and Sand Island. Also steer clear of Rocky and Roach point.
Some people, believe it or not, are still driving vehicles onto the bay. I strongly advise against this. Not trying to discourage you from coming up... but please be very, very careful. I have religiously fished that bay very hard for the last 15 years.... but I haven't been out once yet so far this season on account of the poor ice.
I will update you as next weekend draws closer.

Thanks eastern yooper. Saved me a call:D
Thanks for the report Eastern Yooper. Will monitor it as the weekend approaches. Others from my group are looking at several locations in the Burt/Mullet area where we will probably end up, but we're mobile and I
have always heard great things about Munuscong.
Sorry Sportsman I didn't have my GPS with me when I registered so I went pretty generic with coordinates that I could remember, kind of a cross between work and home. Chad1 and Steve have it right, the concrete ghetto.
Checked it just now N 42º 28.078, W 083º 13.918. Will have to update.
Thanks all.
Geez Dawg, I'm sitting here at work just a couple miles south of you......
