Hi Ray, just got back from a 3 day fishing trip. Yes I did pm. Don tonight. Thanks. I am going to Tawas tomorrow. I would love to get together this winter. I can show you where and how I got the Browns last spring in lake Huron! Glad to hear you got some use from the boat. Alan

Going to Higgins on Jan 18th. According to the moon thing, it's gonna be hot. I hope the ice conditions are favorable after the below 0 temps.:D :D :D

we are also going up there saturday morning for perch. a friend of mine checked the ice weds night off the west launch. reported 4 to 6 inches ice after going quite a ways out. there was at least one permanent shanty out that far. hoping that the big ones are hungry.

Fished Higgins Sat- 2-5:30pm NW side of lake near sunken island. Pulled 4 of us out there on a quad. 30', setup besides some shantys at a supposed GPS hotspot. Setup a daisy chain of 3 shanty's to block the chill. No bites for 1 hour, sent out a brave scout to fish some holes. His first 3 drops in 18' picked up a few dinks which forced us to make a quick move. Ended up a few dinks and a few small keepers up till dark.

Up here on a 3 day weekend from the east side- LSC. Looking to at least find some better perch action tomorrow. If anyone knows of a better portion of the lake to hit our frying pan would be very appreciative.

Ice is pretty solid, good brave day to be out there!

-grateful

Go to the road just at the east corner of the Marathon station at the north end of the lake. I think its Mason rd or something. Straight out from that, and slightly to the right. Find 55-60 feet of water and weeds, and the perch will be there also. Was there from 8:30-11 this morning with a buddy. 20 perch, mostly small, one measured 12", 2 undersize lakers and a smelt. Wax worms and minnows just off bottom. Non stop action until 9:30 am
