I had never seen these before yesterday, when I found the site on Google:
www.sportsmansconnection.com (http://www.sportsmansconnection.com)
Does anyone use these maps? I downloaded the sample map from the CDROM page, and they look pretty good. I just wanted to see what you guys thought before I bought a few books, or maybe the Michigan CDs.
Any opinions would be greatly appreciated!

I bought the cd last weekend and was kinda disappointed when I looked up a local lake that I fish quite regular. They had an island way out of position, and the countour lines were shoddy also in my opionion. Maybe some of the other maps are better. It does give you the dnr stocking reports wich is kinda cool and It also give you a starting point, I just dont think the quality of the maps is all that great.

I bought the Southeastern book. I can't say that I have found them to be completly accurate (I haven't really checked) but thought they were great for locating places to fish. I found all sorts of new lakes and information on fish shockings/trappings and plantings.
The book was only $20 and very useful.

nuts: Maybe you should email them and let them know which map you found to be inaccurate. I doubt anyone has time to check the accuracy of every map. I think they would appreciate it.
I think I may get the complete Michigan set, that would be a good excuse to get out on the lake a little more often. Gotta get my money's worth!
I think they're worth the money. Gives you ideas for new lakes to try. But, sometimes boat launches aren't where the map indicates.

I've found the maps to be usefull as an inital guide as far as mainlake points and some of the deeper holes. They really lack in detail when it comes to sand bars, sunken islands and the secondary points that fish really reside on. I have the 100 Southern Michigan Lakes book and ended up marking up my favorite lake maps for myself. The HOTSPOT map's seems to be in better detail, but they are very limited.
