Started marking fish in about 40 FOW, set up in 60 FOW over bait and hooks, and trolled with the ever increasing SE wind. Hooked up in 80 FOW off a rigger set to 70 down on a free sliding green / black moonshine spoon, could not catch up to the fish quick enough and he was gone. At 6:30 the wind was up to 15 to 20 and the waves were building. We fished out to 140 FOW continuously marking bait from 40 down to the bottom. Ended up pulling lines earlier than I wanted as it was getting nasty, we only got the 1 hit. Marked numerous hooks near and on the bottom that came up for a look at the deep rigger.
We talked to some at the launch and the best report was 3 (he was out earlier) the others were 0 like us. The other comments were the same as we saw with bait and hooks basically from 40 FOW out to 140 FOW. If the wind had waited an hour... Oh well that is fishing on Lake Michigan.
