I have a Yamaha 4 stroke 9.9 hp outboard for sale. I bought it new in 1997, still have receipts. It has been used very little, I estimate 6-7 gallons of gas maximum used. Standard shaft length, manual start, tiller, has 12V output wiring for lighting/charging system, automatic choke system. Always winterized and stored in my attached garage, regular synthetic oil changes in crankcase and lower unit. Includes Clymer shop manual and threaded flushing water hose adaptor.

Average NADA retail price = $1270. (Thanks Jason!)

Please e-mail me with questions, etc. I can send pix but rest assured this looks mint - paint, decals, etc. in top shape and runs like a horse.

Is a standard shaft a long or short shaft ?

In this case 'standard' shaft means 17 inch or what I know as 'short.' I believe 20 inch is considered long. Yamaha does sell conversion kits to extend the shaft length, its not a big deal to install these. Don't know how much the kits cost.

I bought Jeff's fishing boat and can attest to the fact that he takes good care of his equipment. I'm just disapointed that he didn't offer it up for sale when I bought the boat. Just bought a 5 hp Yamaha that was advertised on this forum.

Now if I can just figure out how to reinstall that darn kicker transom mount. Jeff, that mount will allow me to use a short shaft motor won't it? Anyway, can't wait to get your boat wet again, come spring.

Thanks.

Don

Hi Don -

A) I thought I had a use for the 9.9 but changed plans
B) Did not know you needed one!

You may want to see if a shop can help re-installing that aux. transom, I know it will take some muscle to compress the springs while the bolts are put in place. The 9.9 was a bit large and heavy for that aux. bracket, but it did the job just fine the few times I used it! Hope you have a good season when the ice melts and good luck fishing!

I remember you telling me about the tension on the springs. I'm sure I will figure out how it goes back together. I will be sure to have some extra hands available when I attempt to install it.

YOUR!! boat is costing me an amr and a leg. Shouda bought stock in Cabella's!!! Getting gear so I can run Lake Erie for walleyes in the spring. Depth finder, ship to shore, fish-on rod holders, that sort of thing.

It is in storage in my sisters pole barn at her cabin near Rose City for the winter. Only got it out once but it ran great. Can't wait to start setting it up.

I think the 5 hp Yamaha will do nicely. A lot less weight and will run a little harder so virtually no chance of fouling the plugs, I think.

Anyway, who ever buys yours will get a great motor. I saw it and it sure is clean.

I now have 5 pix posted in 'pictures of stuff for sale' forum. Search keyword 'Moser'.

Yamaha model # is F9.9MSHS, purchased new on May 10 1997.

Super clean and perfect running - as close to new as you can get for a previously owned outboard!
