I just purchased 8 pounds of raffia grass to put on my duck boat. Right now the boat has the military netting on it and I want to add the raffia over that to make it look a little more natural. I plan on attaching it with zip ties, but I am curious what way to put the grass on to make it look the most natural? Cut long or short, up and down or side to side, how big of bundles? Looking for ideas. Thanks.

I take the a small bundle at a time about the size that you can fit between your index and thumb. then I grab the center of the pile and twist it tight, make a "U" shape out of it and feed the U through the netting and back out and then pull the two loose ends through the U that is pulled through the netting and pull tight.

It will stay on until you remove it, it is faster and stronger than zip ties.

Quack Wackers approach worked for me. I did 14lbs on my 16 foot boat blind. When mixed with some cedar bows it blended in nicely for the last couple of days of early goose season. best of luck!
