Alright, I hunted from 9-10 till 9-15 and then last weekend,19 and 20th all day everyday fed about noon everyday, just like baiting I fed at noon everyday trying to get them to come in early. Now weather might be a factor, the two weeks before season i had a coat on in the u.p. and now that its season it was 80 plus the first 5 days and last weekend it wasn't as warm but warm still. They hit every night and I've kicked two off in the morning at about 5:30 a.m both times as am walking in but never seen one in the legal shooting hours yet. I have anise oil, bacon scent ball, Active bait site, liquid smoke, Vanilla, jelly. and they love apricot jams and also feeding apples and corn and deep fryer grease. I even used an anise oil bear bomb last night to no avail. I just got to get one in the daylight. My oldman has passed two up about a 1/2 mile away from me in the same swamp on the same runways cuz he said he wants the monster. (he's got two bears under his beltin 8 years) Anything you guys suggest to get one in the daylight hours would be great. I had a permit when i was 14 and only seen the same sow and two cubs during the day all season. Now I got a big bear coming in, biggest track I've ever seen, I'll get some pics up, I dont screw around my bait site, I am very quite, I've tried the bait and leave trick, two of us bait at noon at my site, then the fourwheeler leaves and i stay. The oldboy shot his last two this way, but me, it hasn't worked yet, I think that big boy isn't letting anything else in. Not whining, I know the bears are there, just looking for a daytime trick.:coolgleam

Starve them for a couple of days, then give them about half a bucket of grain/molasses and sweets each night, if the bait is disappearing faster, the bear will be checking in on the site more often. I would also consider moving your stand to another tree, it sounds like he busted you and could be coming and checking you out without you knowing it, but he will screw up eventually. Go to a resteraunt as well and try to get lobster and clam shells, something about them have drove the bears crazy for me in the past and they make lots of noise when being eaten and almost act as a dinner bell. Lastly I get gloves and a zip lok and try to collect droppings from another area and bring them into your site, the dominant bear in the area will check up a lot more often if he thinks a new bear is in the area. No matter what hunt that bear as much as possible and don't give up til the sun goes down on the last day! Good luck man!
