blueberries

I am considering planting blueberries. Any one know of an affordable source for good plants ? Any experience growing ? Stark Nursery has them but seem pricey, $10/plant.

Meijers, Home Depot, or Lowes may have them early next spring for a little less money. Last spring they were under $10 for a one gallon pot.

We grow a dozen bushes here in Sterling Heights. You should acidify the soil with peat sphagnum, pine needles, or aluminum sulphate at planting. This years crop had bushels of berries, but I managed to pick only three berries; and they weren't fully ripe. The deer, racoons, birds, ground hogs, and every other critter would rape the plants every evening of their unripened fruit.
