01-14-2003, 07:29 PM
I am a member of the Oakland County Bass Busters, we host 8 tournaments a year and are always looking for good people. Entry fee is only $20.00 per person per tournament, usually payout to top 3 and also separate prize for big bass. Here is this years schedule:
May 17 - Cass Lake (Golden Rule)
June 1 - Half Moon Chain
June 29 - Lower Detroit River ( Launch at Wyandot - equal
run to St. Claire or Erie)
July 13 - Lake Oakland/Woodhull
July 27 - Union Lake
August 9/10 - Lake St. Claire (2 day tournament- separate
payout each day)
Sept. 21 - Ponemah
Oct. 5 - Club Classic - To be announced day of tourney
Last year was my first year and I had a blast, even fished the State Championship on Muskegon Lake! This year the State Championship is on Lake St. Claire -- LOOK OUT!!! The club meets the second Tuesday of each month. We have about 29 active members - both boater owners and non-boat owners. Bass Busters is a B.A.S.S. affiliate.
Also there are separate tournament series through NBAA that run on Tuesday nights from 6:00pm-9:00pm (Lake St. Claire only), Wednesday nights from 6:00pm-9:00pm (Lakes throughout Oakland and Livingston countys), and Thursday nights 6:00pm-9:00pm (Lake St. Claire only).
Only through Bass Busters can you qualify for the State Championship as it is a B.A.S.S. sanctioned event.
Through N.B.A.A. you can qualify for the regional classic - last year it was in upstate New York.
Lots of fun and a great way to meet new fishing buddies. Main scope of the club is not the competition, its to learn and practice conservation!!!
We will be hosting a booth at the Michigan Sport Fishing Expo held at Ford Field Jan. 29th - Feb 2nd. Stop by and see us - we run the trout pond!!!
Anybody interrested should shoot me an e-mail at Farcus4@aol.com
