Now that we have fresh Venison, here's a recipe that I've used and it is a treat for the whole family.
For this recipe you will need:
1 1/2 lb ground Venison
2 Tbsp butter or Olive Oil
1/2 cup onion, chopped
1/2 cup celery, diced
1/2 cup green peas
1/2 tsp dired basil
1/2 tsp orregano
1/2 cup smoked soup stock
2 cups biscuit mix
Procedure:
Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
Brown, or fry out the ground Venison and set aside.
Melt the butter or use Olive Oil in a skillet and carmalize the onions and celery.
Add the browned vension, peas, basil, orregano and soup stock. Cover and cook for 15 minutes.
Place the mixture in an oiled baking dish.
Mix the biscuit mix according to the directions, roll out or pat to shape and place on top of the mixture in the baking dish.
Bake for 15 minutes or until top of crust is brown.
This recipe will serve 4 hungry people a full, hearty, and delicious meal. We usually have leftovers (only 2 of us) and it is also excellent reheated.
Enjoy.
