Here's an easy one that makes an excellent breakfast.

For this recipe you will need:

1 lb. Venison, ground. (Fresh Venison Sausage is excellent here also.)

1 large can Cream Of Mushroom soup

Some biscuits either fresh made or purchased. (When I first did this, I had some bisucits left over from another meal.)

Proceedure:

Brown the ground meat in a large skillet.

Add the Mushroom soup (concentrated) and heat to boil (will need to stir several times to prevent burning on the bottom.)

Serve over biscuits (toast also works - could also be over rice, noodles, or potato's.)

Good stuff - simple and easy to prepare.

Hope,

I have been looking through some very old cook-books - looking for uses for your Venison Summer Sausage - so far what I have found as several recipe's on how to make it. Will let you know when I find something on uses.

Maybe some of the other members can help out here - most of us have had this stuff on hand from time to time.

Will keep you updated.

ss for the best gravy i always make it from scratch. Wondra flour in the blue can makes awesome gravy in any pan drippings by making a rue then adding milk. skip the can. This is my preference.

fatbrad,

For Sure, homemade is best, and it could be prepared ahead of time for use later. However, when I am in the field, sometimes it is more expeidient to open a can. Just depends on how much time will be devoted to meal preparations VS other activities.

Thanks for the recipe.

Wild Bill,

Thanks for the recipe. It sounds like something that can be done with ease at camp. A good gravy is always a welcome addition to most meals.
