This will be the 6th season of our co-op and i just wanted to share some pictures from the last three season's. The last three years we have ran at least 10 cameras from early summer to late spring. I was going back through my pictures from the last few years and was amazed at just how far we've come. In the beginning i would save every buck picture we got. Now I only save a few 2 1/2 and everything that is older. I thing this is some real proof of what is possible when neighbors work together.

You can't get mature bucks in Michigan because our hunter densities are so high. Don't you read the posts on this forum from the nit-pickers and naysayers?

Thanks for sharing with us, I am starting to see some results on my land and we are only 3 more land owners away from having a large track on a great program. It is great to see what we have to lood forward too. Thanks Again.

The 4th from the bottom; his body looks stupendous for 08/21.

Lots of other good pics too, including a couple shooters. Thank you for posting 'em.

Calhoun,
how many landowners and how many acres are part of the co-op? There is a co-op staring in my area and it's very encouraging to see posts like this. I can't wait to see what the future holds!

We have over 100 landowners and lease's, and little over 10,000 acres. Don't let those numbers discourage you. You can have great results with much less land. Most of the bucks we photograph have very small home ranges during the hunting season. In the beginning our members were simply passing on 1 1/2 year olds and now many of them pass on 3 1/2 year olds. We still harvest a few 1 1/2 and 2 1/2 year old bucks every year(first timers and youth hunters) and we are still able to advance the age structure.

I live in and own a couple hundred acres in Calhoun county and was just curious as to what areas property owners where able to get together and form the co-op. I have no interest in going after "their deer" as I have plenty on my property to hunt.

Our co-op is called the Marshall Herd Management Co-op and is located in Calhoun County. Most of the co-op is located south of Marshall. Feel free to give me a call if you want more info 734-777-3781.

No problem, the first comment I saw caught me off guard and I was still chuckling when I read yours. Good luck this season!:)

Believe it or not, when you pour minerals out in the same spot for ten years the deer still come back to them. What would you like me do? Bring in a back hoe and dig the stump out of the ground.:dizzy:
