Fly fishing below Foote?

Next tuesday Im planning on going kayaking/fishing below foote dam and I was wondering if anybody has fly fished that stretch, are would I be better off bringing a casting pole? What kind of fish can be caught there? Also can anybody recommend lures are flies that work best for any species?

this time of year smallmouth are your best bet. poppers and streamers will get you the best action. still to early for any kings.if you dont fly fish you never know what you can get bouncing a crawler or throwin a spinner. bass,walleye catfish carp suckers pike ,rock bass you name it.for trout or smallies i recommend floating van ettan creek, you never know probally a king or to already no crowds lots of fish great for the fly.
