I am sick and tired of trying every day 6 months in advance trying to book a state park site. Can anyone reccommend a good private campground on a lake. Per my wife needs to be clean and have nice showers.
thanks

Try Headwaters Resort in Waters, mi. It's on Big Bradford Lake. It's very clean with great hosts and a great low-key, relaxing atmosphere. Call Kim & Steve(989-705-2066), tell the Mark Flynn sent you. Also only ten min. from all the things to do & see in the Gaylord area. They also have winter camping if you are into snowmobiling or skiing.

Try Oscoda County Park. It's in Mio. It's on Mio Pond (The lake formed by the dam on the AuSable river in Mio. It's a nice park with showers. Here's a link to their web site.

I haven't been there in years but used to go there every summer when I was a kid. Check them out. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
