Good Luck, if I didn't have to work I would give it a try. I'd be interested in learning some new hard water areas and meet some more members.

Make sure to bring a flasher (sounder), if you fish the "hole"

Bulldog and I hit Kent Lake for about 3 hours today. Ice was kinda iffy in spots, but not too bad.
We caught all small perch.
We talked to a number of people who were having similar results. We did have an enjoyable and educational convo with a guy who has been fishing that lake since the 40's. Good guy, knows his stuff. He was catching mostly small perch as well, but he had an under-water camera, and he saw a couple largemouth bass go after his perch.

Good time with my Dad even though we did not fill up the frying pan. Thanks for meeting me out there Bulldog!

With all the Bass reports I will put Kent Lake on my List to fish in the summer. Thanks for the Imfo.

Slowpoke,
I don't know if others would agree or not, but I have always had better success early in the season on Kent. If you decide to fish it this year, try to get out there early. Since it's an early catch n release lake, makes that plan even easier. The back water areas get choked full of weeds and that kind of fishing is not my cup of tea. They start raising the water level at the beginning of April and it's generally fishable the last week or so of April. Good luck.

Thanks again. I'll give it a try. I like to get my boat out as soon ask I can to check out how it made it through the winter. Is Kent lake is a no wake lake? I recall that it is. cya.

Your correct. Kent Lake has a 10mph speed limit. Catch and release bass season opens April 1st, but the water is still down and it's tough to launch a larger boat. Use the east boat launch, the west one is too shallow.

I fish there every spring and haver caught several largemouths up to 22" and smally's to 20". Well worth the trip.
