bow lights

Question regarding the positioning of bow lights.

My bow mount trolling motor, is positioned in the front center of the boat.

Can the red/green be positioned off to the side ?

Not quite comfortable with lights being off to the side.

The lights can be mounted on the sides as long as each color is visible from 0 degrees (dead ahead) to 120 degrees from each side. West Marine etc have lights specifically made for such applications.
