I posted in the Lake Chemung post ( http://www.michigan-sportsman.com/forum/showthread.php?threadid=29637 ) about a couple of kids approaching a group of MS.com'ers while on a mini outing. All of us were showing the kids the fish on the ice and answered their questions when a group of 'gills came by. Myself and Trail Findr let the kids land a couple to their delight. I took a couple of pictures and emailed them to the family and asked permission to post the pics.

I received an email back today. Here it is:

Pat

We would like to thank you so much for the photos, they turned out great! The kids were really excited to see themselves with the fish. I guess I'll have to go get some 'ice' gear now. Your patience and willingness to teach them gave them a good first impression of the sport.

You have our permission to post the kids pictures on your sportsman website.

Thanks again

Apparently they've enjoyed themselves enough to join the future ranks. So with much adieu here are the photos.

Here's the young lady who's name I can't recall, sorry:

And here is Jordie, I had hoped to get him one more since his sister caught two. I didn't want him to feel out fished but by the look on his face he seems pretty happy with his catch.

Great Job guy. Seeing kids reactions when they get a bite, set the hook, then have to fight the fish is just awesome! brings back memories of when you were a kid and got hooked on fishing.
(I still have the same reaction as they do you just don't see it on the outside) lol !;)

GREAT JOB!! We need to as sportsman continue to introduce kids to the great outdoors and the sport of hunting and fishing, after all they are the future of our sport. The only way we will ever win the battle with the anti's is to continue to introduce and get kids interested in the sports.

Great Job to those Involved

Gunrod:

That is awesome that you were able and willing to show those youngsters a bit about the sport. It is always nice to see people sharing their knowledge with others.

Thanks, but credit also goes to the other members who took part (MSUiceman, Tattoo Mike, Trail Findr, 338Bar and Frank) who all answered questions and showed the kids fish. Also credit the mother for being willing to let a bunch of strangers interact with the kids.

Like I emailed the parents, I think I enjoyed it more than the kids.

Here's the crew again:
