Looks like it could be a cort to me.
You did say it was purple gilled with a brown print I believe,
which would usually be one of the many corts generally.

from afar it looks like a cort of a sort. And like ya said it really is too early for blewits. If it's got a rust brown spore print you can pretty much bet it's a cort. Someone just posted about a recent cort poisoning here in Ada Mi. I believe.
