sometimes you have to re program the card tipping. mine did that this year and i took batteries out and put them in again and it worked for me. my card wasn't locked tho. try putting ur card in computer and possibly re program it. good luck. also check your little slide lock on the side of the card. it may have been slid to the lock position.

So.....when you turn it on. Do you get the message if SD card is installed you must erase memory? Does the date pop up after that?
Basically, and you've probably already done this. When I change mine out, I skip the date, next function is ERASE SD CARD MEMORY and it comes up flashing, click the up button until YES is flashing, hit the button to the right of that and it erases the memory, go to the mode button, click on it, then it comes up in AUTO mode, close and that's it?
That's the standard issue way of doing it.......but if your card has a glitch or is damaged, that's a whole different deal. You shouldn't have to re-format it on the computer if you ask me.

Ok it doesn't let me erase anything when theres a memory card in it, it just keeps saying redo. also when theres a memory card in it, i can't get it to go to AUTO. hitting the mode button does nothing! taking my batteries out does nothing either, i took them out over night thinking it would reset but it didn't, the time stayed.

unlock the card and try it. if you locked the card thats a protector so you wont be able to erase anything and might make the camera act up...
