In years past I've seen quite a few in the shallows around Dickinson Island, but I've yet to try and shoot them. I think that might change soon though... :)

I bowfish Lake St Clair several times a week. We usually focus on the marshy areas at the north end of Anchor bay. Water conditions will be your only concern. The fish are in there thick but you can't shoot em if you can't see em! Try launching out of Fair Haven or Deckers Landing at the end of Anchor Bay Dr. The big carp seems to hang out in the reeds while some of the smaller suckers and carp will hang out in open water shallow flats. We go at night with a trolling motor and spotlight. The reeds don't seem to tangle in the trolling motor so don't be afraid to get right in there as that's where the pigs hide. If the water is calm and clear you should do well. This area is no good w/ even the lightest south wind as the waves build over the lake. Wait for a calm day or night and you should be able to shoot fish until your arms are sore. I would imagine that during the day the fish stay deep especially after the spawn. Good luck
