Thats funny!

More people need to know about what a riot it is just to watch and be part of it all.

I talked with your partner at Wakely or McMasters bridge last year while watching the race. He has the heart to make a go of it thats for sure. Let me know if you think you might need help. I am sponsoring another boat, but they are all set for help so far.

3 days 13 hrs and 44min until the big one, but whose counting?

Orion, whose boat do you sponsor?Do you remember which partner you talked to?

If any of you other members are following the race, our boat number will be #14,give us a shout when we go by.Pretty sure we are going to be towards the back.We raced in the Spikes challenge race last Sunday in the amature division and was 8th out of 12 boats, but there was only about a minute and a half seperating most of us.The plus side is we had 25min to spare at the second cut off point,so we will be fine.

This is a long marathon and our biggest goal is to get to the finish line on time,as long as we finish we have made a big accomplishment,we are hoping to be there in 17 to 18 hrs.We are not racing anybody but the river and the clock. If we dont make it,it will not be because we dont have the desire,we are ready to go.

Thanks again Steve,I promise I will damndest, and pour everything I got in my heart and soul to give them Michigan Sportsman Stickers a ride from one end of the Ausable to the other.

1 more thing, some of you guys may remember in 07 I did this with my son and he got sick and we had to pull out,but there was somethig else wrong that night also.My father was on his death bed and passed away 3 days after the race.He was a very sick man and never was able to see me race in 06 or 07 but was very much into it and wanted to know everything that was going on and I involved him in as much as I possible could.
This one is for the ole'man he will be watching down upon us and guide us through this,I am sure of it.He may not of ever been able to physically watch but I was for sure thinking of him. This year I have a picture of him holding a northern pike in front of me on my foot rest so I can look at it at anytime,it brings a smile to my face, and I am going to give him the ride of my life Saturday night.

See you in Oscoda,Brian

We watched you go by towards the start of the 07 marathon, I doubt if you heard it but I gave you one heck of a turkey gobble.....all the rest of the crowd around us got a good chuckle out of it. Best of luck to you this year and I hope your Dad gives you that extra little push when the muscles get sore & the night gets long.
