Know A Kid Who Wants A Good Start In Hunting?
Register Your Kids for this Summer’s SCI SHAP Camp – August 14-16
The SCI State Hunter Apprentice Program (SHAP) camp is gearing up for this summer. The 2009 dates will be August 14-16 and will take place at Echo Grove Camp in Leonard, MI (about 9 miles north of Rochester).
What is SHAP?
SHAP is a 2-1/2-day youth camp for kids ages 11-15 who aspire to become sportsmen and women. During the course of the weekend, the participants will receive instruction in the MDNR Hunter Safety Program and the IBEP Bowhunter Education Program. Successful students will receive their certificates for both. They'll also share an outdoor camp experience with other aspiring young hunters, including evening campfires and outdoor "edu-tainment" programs. The camp includes dormitory-style lodging, great meals, top-notch training by certified instructors, all course materials, experienced councilors, camp T-shirts, and a few extra goodies to take home. The cost is only $90 per student. Camp is limited to the first 60 students this year, so don't delay!
