Perch Thursday

Finally mustered up a decent perch dinner yesterday. Fished just across the channel in 16.5 - 18.5 FOW up near the north end of the channel from noon to 3pm. Caught 30 or so and kept 23 or so. Could not get even one bite while anchored on either crawlers or minnows so I decided to drift using a simlple spreader set up and started getting action right away. Caught only 4 or 5 on minnows and the rest liked the 1" pieces of crawlers.

Looks like a nice catch there. Thanks for the post. Were you dragging the bottom with the spreader? Were you in the channel or the lake?

Sorry I didn't get any buoy numbers but I was at the north end on the Canadian side of the channel but still in US waters. If you head out that way, I do remember that there is a buoy with what looked like 3 wood pilings sticking out of the water on the north side. I was about 100 yards south of that. My bell sinker was dragging/bouncing across the bottom and I had tied on two snelled hooks above that. I may be back out there Sunday. My boat is a 17.5' Alumacraft that is green on the tops of the sides and gold underneath with a 90HP merc.
