Besides the Best Western in Baraga....does anyone know of any places to stay in the Baraga area. We will be bear hunting near there and are looking for lodging. We need comfortable beds and a hot shower.....pretty much only there to sleep. Any recomendations?

I didn't think of the casino....I'll call there also. Chassell is in the wrong direction from where we are hunting but thanks for the suggestion.

Look in L'Anse, there are several mom and pop motels with reasonable rates that are clean and well maintained. Try the Hilltop, has a restruant attached with the worlds best, (and original ) cinnamon buns.

You have the hilltop, The lanse Motel, The Casino, The Waterstone Suites. You also have Carla's Restaurant
and
Lake Shore Motel

I do know that the Waterstone suites is a new place and does seam to be very clean. Hilltop and lanse Motel are both clean as well. You also have a super 8 i think it is across from the casino but what i hear the beds arnt that good.

You can try Filpus cabins on Otter lake, great log cabins, just a little NW of Baraga.

L'Anse Motel, we've stayed there deer hunting for twenty years. Good clean rooms, reasonable price. Top of the hill going into L'Anse, next to the police station. Try Tony's Steak House for dinner.
