I sold my Lund Prov and picked up a 22ft Starcraft Islander for salmon. Now I want to pick up a boat for handlining north of the bridge. What would be a good rig for two guy's?I was thinking like a 16 ft with a 25-30 hp tiller.Hear there doing well north of the bridge right now.

Got 7 north of the bridge last night. Buddy and I went old school whipping due to it being a last minute decision to go and me wanting to chill instead of playing captain. Most of those guys handlining out there are in exactly that, 16fters with 25-50hp. I actually handline out of my ProV 19ft. Set my 9.9 pro kicker up with a tiller handle and it works great.

Any size to the ones being caught out in the lake?I ask this except for a 4lber I caught most have been 13-15 inches caught from shore.

They were all about 13-15 also. Heard those bells ringing on shore like crazy last night, hope it was you! Fish are running bigger Marysville to algonac most being 19-22, had the same 15's at the mouth of the south channel.

some bigger ones being caught, mostly deeper, 18- 24 inchers, but mainly 15's being caught last time i was out there. i have a 16 foot tin can with a 25hp on it and its perfect for handlining, a little wider would be nice when fishing 2 people.

I just bought a 1995 16ft aluminum Lund Laker. Its the handliner special edition with mounts for handline's reels up front. And a 25hp Johnson that can idle less than 1mph. But haven't used it for handlining yet. :coolgleam

If you are interested in buying a 16 ft Ultracraft with a 30HP tiller, great boat in excellent shape I am selling mine. I would like to buy a bass boat is the ONLY reason I am selling it.
