I don’t bass fish much (maybe 1 or 2 times a year) and not very good at it. My son is visiting for a couple weeks from Tennessee and asked me to take him. We will be staying in Algonac, any suggestions where I may be able to take him, maybe around Anchor Bay somewhere? Are the channels any good? Doesn’t matter if it’s smallmouth or Large. I would really appreciate any help.

Thanks
Ken

I would take him in Lake St. Clair for bass. Drag tube jigs out around 10ft. find the drop off even if its little. just cast out and drift. Maybe at the end of the fire cracker area. Green pumpkin with 3/8 to 1/2 oz. heads. Still early for the channels or river.

Youll have no problem finding bass in the Algonac area. Just fish the canals and the cuts around breakwalls, docks etc...If you can find some rockpiles or rockwalls you should find some small mouth as well. Weve been doin really well on spinnerbaits early. Then fish 1/4 oz. bass jigs in brown or black with a crawfish trailer. Been killing em the last two weekends.
