Nice pics bd
Looks like all non edibles to me. lol
I agree, the first one is a member of the bitter family,
which not all are bitter.
Not sure on the others.

That bitter bolete is the 1st of the bolete specise I have ever picked and it got me excited, so that was kewl even if its not an EATER!
Either way its kinda interesting just to hunt them and try to identify, not as easy as it sounds.

I agree, to me it's like a never ending puzzle where I learn where a few
new pieces fit every year.
Always fun to try and learn a new shroom edible or not.
Do you have any books yet?

The first two sure look like bitter boletes to me as well. Tried one once out of curiosity just to do it.......YUCK!!!! The big patch of brownish looking ones with the fibrous stems look like platterful mushrooms, but I can't guarantee it without looking at it closely. Definitely looks like them though.(Were they growing on dead wood and were the gills white?) However, I did actually try them this year. They are edible, but most definitely not very tasty. Not much better than bitter boletes IMO. Really tough, but an ok meaty taste at first. Then..........Yuck....bitter. The others. I'm with everyone else. Have no clue. I like to pick stuff like you did on occasion though to take home and practice IDing. I just don't eat them. Sometimes I figure it out and sometimes........I realize there's ALOT of fungus out there....!

Glad I got in the 1st pic's he he he
No i haven't bought any books, but have been investigating them!
Yes those shroons had white gills, and woody stems, growing sometimes directly out of dead rotted poplar, some of them rooted quite deep! Had a sweet almost morel/puffball smell to them!
I did find some brownish Crown Coral also, but they were well past prime! What a neet looking specimen!

This is quickly becoming my favorite hobby, as it seems where ever I go they GROW!

They look like platterfuls, but it's not a guarantee though. Just a logical guess from what I could see. Were the woody stems also hollow in the Middle? Also, mushroom picking is EXTREMELY addicting!:D What beats walking around the woods with no one to bother you for hours like on an easter egg hunt. Then of course when you are at home not in the woods you have an excuse to research and learn something. When it all connects.....MMMMM!!

P.S.- I saw the white mushrooms above the bottom orange ones today. Had no clue what they were, but pretty interesting looking and large. Saw some other bigger ones that looked similar, but the stem was a little scaly. If I see it again I may pic it just to try and figure it out. Don't have to eat everything, but learning can be just as fun.
