Drew Cow tag for the 1st season

Hard to believe the luck. It was a good week Drew an elk tag on Thursday & got my return to work letter on Friday. Truely blessed. I like to go west but wasnt sure I could swing it this year.
I am very excited about the hunt. Headed up to check out a couple more areas over the fourth. I drew a cow tag in Dec. 96 & was able to take her with a bow.
Being the early hunt this year, I am keeping my options open. May use my pistol. Going to depend on the number of elk I am finding.

However drawing during the early hunt for a cow is a tough hunt. The herd bulls will have them all herded up and trying to hide from the other bulls.

Mi-man, I believe your right. Its going to be a tough hunt. Thats why I'm not going to use my bow unless I have a ton located. I did get some private land lined up that held lots last year. Hope that pans out;)
