If there is ever any question your best bet is to contact the DNR...

In this case if you are allowed to hook and line fish from a boat there then you should be able to bowfish as well. A phone call to the local C.O. would do 2 good things for you... 1. it would let you know if its legal for sure or not and 2. it will let the C.O. know your out there incase he gets any complaint calls from Anti's or Ignorant people.. and trust me he will appreciate that lol

I've been out to Kent Lake three weeks in a row, and rented a boat once. I asked the guy who runs the boat rental place and he checked, then said as far as he knew it was allowed, he just asked me to stay away from the beaches, which isn't really where the carp are anyway.

I think they are done spawning there, but I bet it would be good at night. The park closes at 10 PM, but I don't think that means you can't fish at night on the lake.

You would be suprised as to how many carp show up on those sandy beaches at night! ;)

you can only bowfish at kent lake from a boat it is printed in the park brochure.

Park closes at 10 pm and it is patrolled no night fishing or anything that I am aware of. They caught and kicked out my son for snow boarding at night, next time a major ticket and trip to the police station.

Hmm, guess I better stop bowfishing from the shore then

It wasn't that great anyway. Too bad you can't go in there at night, there are some big carp in there.

i don't think night fishing of any kind or shore bowfishing is a problem there. You just have to use common sense and chat w' the Metropark police.

Please! Kill the carp! and gar. There's plenty of both and some monsters too.

Looks like I will have to ask. It would be nice to know about the Huron River coming down from Milford as well. With all the laws from all different directions, it seems kind of hard to know for sure what is legal and where.

Killing carp and gar should be legal anywhere, by any means that doesn't harm anything else.

The land is private, the lake is public because it is navigable both in and out, so...
